The all-new Subaru Outback has already made its name for being one of the safest SUVs in the world right now. The vehicle has already been released in the US last week and now, it has finally arrived in China.
We are writing about this because the Chinese variant of the Subaru Outback actually runs on a different engine. Here in the US, the SUV is either powered by a naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter flat-four engine or a larger 3.6-liter six-cylinder unit.
In China however, the Outback comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer engine. While no output figures were shared, we can expect it to be about 250hp. This is after referring to the Forester, which runs on a similar engine.
Then again, it actually hurts to see the turbocharged motor not being offered in the US. If the Chinese Outback records a better performance and fuel efficiency, Subaru is going to have a tough time addressing the US complaints.
