Come 2016, Honda will be releasing the all-new Pilot. The latter is going to participate in the large SUV segment and today, the world can already catch a glimpse of the vehicle in action.
This is after the first set of spy shots surfaced online depicting the Pilot running some test in thick camouflage. Regardless, we can see that the SUV is larger than how it was tipped to be, thus confirming that it will be generous in offering space.
Also, we can confirm that the Pilot is built on the same platform that is utilized by the Acura MDX. This can be seen with the rear section and longer roofline. The other thing is that the Pilot sports a boxier structure instead of adopting the trendy curvy body.
On the other hand, the Honda Pilot seems to take a lot of inspirations from the Honda Accord. Looking past the camouflage, the front headlights are much more angular now like how it is on the Accord.
In addition to that, the Honda Pilot is linked to arrive with engines that are used by the Accord. Rumours are pointing out that the Pilot will be powered by the V6 mill that is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the entry level model will run on the 3.5L V-6 engine. Either way, the Honda Pilot will be driving on the AWD system with an option of FWD.
Aside from the information taken from the spy shots, it is best to take the rumours with a pinch of salt. After all, it lacks evidence and there is a chance that Honda will turn the Pilot into a hybrid. We’ll surely get more updates from the Japanese carmaker in the near future.
