2016 Honda Pilot Review: The Ultimate Soccer Mom Car?

In a matter of weeks from now, Honda will be distributing the next-gen Pilot all over the globe and it is tipped to be the best 7-seater SUV around. Well, we manage to get a sneak peek at the vehicle and here is what we found out.

For starters, the Honda Pilot looks mature in the sense that it is boxier than before. The front also looks bolder than before, something that is akin to the latest CR-V. As for the styling, it is very similar to the latest Honda Accord. It is as if the Accord got remade into an SUV.

Inside the vehicle, everything is all neat and tidy. We particularly like how the infotainment system is positioned in between the air vents and this ensures that things don’t look clustered at all.

On the road, the Pilot feels soft. This cannot be helped as the latest model is about 300lbs lighter than the previous model. This allows the 3.5L V6 engine to develop more power. In figures, the Pilot has got 280hp and 262ft-lbs of torque to offer.

Despite so much power, we are actually very disappointed with the performance. This is because the Honda Pilot feels boring and something an actual family driver would love. This is why we had to label the Pilot as the ultimate vehicle for soccer moms. The vehicle is simply too automated and safe.
