Come next year, Ford will be looking to release the Focus RS sports hatchback and the car is expected to challenge the likes of the Volkswagen Golf GTi. However, many are citing that the Focus RS won’t be enjoying a US release.
This is because Ford has already got the EcoBoost-powered Mustang and Lincoln MKC as their performance vehicles. Seeing the Focus RS making an entry in a crowded market seems unlikely to happen.
Then again, we feel that the Focus RS will make its debut everywhere in the world including here in America. This is evident if one is to study Ford’s pattern of release in the couple of years. Throughout the period, the Blue Oval company has been releasing many great vehicles, even those that are unnecessary.
If the pattern is to follow, then there is no doubt that the Ford Focus RS will surely enjoy a local release. In the worst possible scenario, the Focus RS will be made in limited numbers here in the US.
When the Ford Focus RS arrives, it will be powered by a 2.3L EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine that has 350hp up its sleeves. The Focus RS will also run on the AWD system.
