The Ford Edge is about to get refreshed with an all-new model and it will look to be more than a fashion statement. The second generation Edge is confirmed by Ford to come with tons of new technologies that surpasses the offerings on a luxury vehicle.
The list includes adaptive cruise control, adaptive steering system, collision warning with brake support, active park assist, glove box-mounted airbag system, hands free liftgate, 180 degree front camera with washer and inflatable rear safety belts.
Furthermore, the upcoming Edge will sport a new set of suspensions. Aside from absorbing the road bumps, the latter will also act as a noise insulator that prevents the loud unaccommodating sounds from the road to creep inside the cabin.
In addition to that, there will be a new multi-purpose electric steering wheel in place and it is paired to the self-parking function. Ford claims that this particular feature also influence the Edge’s handling for the better.
The Ford Edge will be coming with four trim-levels and they are SE, SEL, Sport & Titanium. This will come together with three engine options and they are identified to be a 2.0liter Ecoboost four-cylinder engine, a 2.7 liter EcoBoost V6 mill and a 3.5 liter V6 motor. The engine selected will be paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
