One of the highlights of 2014 is the all-new Audi A3. The compact sedan was launched last month as part of Audi’s 2015 line-up and it came out with tons of new improvements and features to offer. We tested the A3 yesterday and here is our take on the car.
The Audi A3 is offered with multiple engine options. There is the 1.8L turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol, 2L turbocharged 4-cylineder petrol, 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel and the high performance 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol.
We opted for the diesel-powered A3 that is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and was mesmerized by its offerings. The car basically generates 150hp and 236ft-lbs of torque. Even if it is powered by diesel, we particularly like the fact that the A3 runs smoothly and quietly.
Aside from the typical Audi design, the A3 boasts a luxury interior that is both spacious and comfortable. The cabin is populated by the luxuries in life like leather seats, neat stitches, great button organization, an updated infotainment system, huge sunroof and many more. Despite the many features, we were surprised as the A3 lacks a backup camera as a standard.
The best part about the A3 is its unrivalled handling, which is typical of an Audi car. Also, it gets more interesting as the Audi A3 can be really affordable to own. The entry level model retails at $30,795 while the model we tested retails at $33,495.
While it might be a little bit costly for average consumers, the price tag is considered to be relatively cheap considering that consumers will also get a taste of a luxury car. For its price, the Audi A3 is well worth it. It is also economical as the A3 returns 37mpg. Truly, the car is worth it.
