Earlier this year, two great hatchbacks got released and they are the Kia Soul and the Mazda 3. Both vehicles have enjoyed an explosive launch but which of the two is the better vehicle?
Unlike the Mazda 3, the Kia Soul can also be considered as a Compact Wagon. The fact that it has a long wheelbase also means that there is more storage space for the drivers. The Kia Soul runs on the 130hp 118 ft-lbs 1.6L 4-Cylinder petrol engine. The motor is controlled by a 6-speed manual transmission and it is built as a FWD vehicle.
The Kia Soul recorded 24mpg in city roads and 30mpg on the highways. A single full tank can get the Soul moving for up to 426miles.
Over at Mazda, the 3 offers a sportier look than the Soul. The hatchback is powered by the 155hp 150 ft-lbs 2L 4-Cylinder engine that is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. By far, this is more powerful than the Kia Soul.
Furthermore, the Mazda 3 is able to achieve 29mpg in city roads and 40mpg on highways. This is truly impressive and much more efficient than the Kia Soul. Also, the Mazda 3 is able to travel of up to 528miles on a single full tank of petrol.
By far, the Mazda 3 is the more technically-advanced hatchback of the two. Of course, the price tag of $18,945 can be a scare to the consumers. Is the $4,045 extra fee for the Mazda 3 worth the price? Share us your thoughts in the comment section below.
