The latest database leak confirms that Source 2 engine is indeed in the making and it will be the platform for the next-gen games from Valve. Sneaking in that list is also Half Life 3. This long-awaited title has been pending its debut for 10 years now and the fans are delighted to see it in the list.
As of this moment, the fans are getting their hopes restored and believe that the powerful Source 2 engine will be the basis of Half Life 3. There is no better way to show off a new and improved game engine than testing out with an AAA title.
If this is true, then there is a possibility for Half Life 3 to offer an open world game with plenty of exploration to be done. After all, the Source 2 engine is able to make it possible and Half Life 3 will definitely start with a bang.
Perhaps, the players start Half Life 3 in a chopper gunner as they start shooting on ground targets from the sky. Having such an intro will definitely reveal Source 2’s capabilities.
