One thing that gets us all buzzing is the announcement of an Apple product. While today’s announcement is not a new iPhone 5 it has left everyone talking. Cricket are now offering the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S without contract at a ridiculously low price.
iPhone 4 & 4S now available via Cricket at very low prices, no signs of iPhone 5 yet
Customers of Cricket lined up this morning to be among the first to get their hands on one of the devices with the prepaid carrier. Both phones have to be bought outright with the iPhone 4 8GB being $399 and the iPhone 4S 16GB, $499. Cricket said that despite people having to purchase outright, sales had been “brisk” and this may be partly due to the plan Cricket are offering at $55 per month. For this customers can enjoy unlimited calling, data and messaging. However there is a throttle limit past 2.3 GB.
It is also thought that Virgin will be offering a pre-paid iPhone 4 and 4S from June 29th, which just happens to be the date of iPhone’s 5th anniversary. I wonder how big their queues are likely to be then?
The iPhone range are of course still very popular handsets and while there was no mention of a new iPhone, the iPhone 5 is expected to be launched later this year. Are you going to wait for the iPhone 5 or take advantage of one of the handsets that Cricket is offering?
Given that rivals like the Samsung Galaxy S3 cost upwards of $700 contract-free, we find it hard to pass up on these iPhone deals. The Cricket plan doesn’t look too bad either.
