Mazda made it clear that they are looking to move their Mazda CX-5 model upmarket as they can’t really compete with Honda when it comes to volume. According to Mazda, their goal for the Mazda CX-5 will be to join the BMW and Audi market which means they are aiming to overtake Volvo and their Volvo XC60 model.
Mazda’s plan to take to one the popular models by offering a vehicle that has the same quality but with a cheaper price tag. They compared the Mazda CX-5 to models like the Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and BMW X1 and pointed out with the models were all about $9000 more expensive than the Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring all wheel drive model with options which cost about $33,465 right now.
To make sure they have what it takes to compete with the other, Mazda made a few important upgrades to the Mazda CX-5 including changing the position of the wipers so that the airflow is better. They also made some changes to improve the seal on the CX-5 model. Thanks to the new G-Vectoring Control, the vehicle will also ride better now.
With all these upgrades, will you be surprised if Mazda CX-5 takes down the Volvo XC60?
