The new Chevrolet Colorado looks just about right in our eyes. But, that’s not the main focus. We are eager to know more about the car’s Duramex diesel and what the engine has to offer.
The Chevy Colorado Diesel is the first mid-size pickups enhanced for towing. The pickup comes with the Duramex 2.8-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine under its hood. The Duramax four is built around the tall cast iron block with dual overhead cam heads which operate four valves per cylinder.
Furthermore, the Duramax uses urea injection to suck out the nitrogen oxides, and it is legal in 50 states. Don’t worry, there’s no diesel cheating going on here.
The new Chevrolet Colorado diesel gets the common rail direct fuel injection, variable vane turbocharger and charge intercooler, it is as modern as any other diesel available. Besides Colorado, the Duramax will also be available with Chevy Canyon’s two and four-wheel drive.
