We thought that the Mazda CX-9 was the one leading the pack when Mazda release it with the new Mazda CX-9 engine but it looks like it is the Mazda CX-5 that got the last laugh as Mazda announce that the SUV will be coming in with a new diesel engine.
It was first thought that the Mazda CX-5 was going to come with a new engine option but at that time, most people believe that the new engine will be the new CX-9 engine. Mazda reveals that the engine was made to be compact so that it can fit inside any of their models but it looks like Mazda has other plans for the Mazda CX-5.
Unlike the other Mazda models, the Mazda CX-5 will be coming with a 2.2-liter SkyActive-D engine. With all the other automakers now trying to avoid bringing their diesel model into the US, Mazda saw this as the perfect time to start offering their diesel-powered Mazda CX-5.
The new 2017 Mazda CX-5 should be arriving in February next year.
