We know that the Android Nougat will be the last software updates that the Google Nexus 6 will be getting since it has already passed if software update expiration date but what users would like to know now is whether they will be getting the Android 7.1 Nougat update for now.
While most people believe that Google will continue to offer them all the other software update until the next OS arrive, Google has no obligation to actually do that once they’ve released the Android 7.0 update.
Why the jump from the Android 7.0 and the Android 7.1 is not huge, the Nexus 6 users will not be happy if they ended up not getting the update. Even if Google does stop at the Android 7.0 Nougat, that does not mean that it is time for you to dump the Nexus 6. There will still be security patches from Google so they’ve not abandon it yet,
