Following the arrival of the HTC One M9 and the Samsung Galaxy S6, many are eager to check out what Microsoft has in store for the masses. The Silicon Valley tech giant then decided to launch the all-new Lumia 540 and this surprised everyone as many were expecting a high-end flagship phone.
The Lumia 540 arrived earlier today and it came with dual-SIM support. The smartphone also sports a 5” display that runs on 720p resolution. It is now obvious that the Lumia 540 is another mid-tier device from Microsoft as it comes with mid-tier specs.
The Lumia 540 is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of fixed storage space. Heck, there is also a microSD slot and Microsoft cloud storage space of 30GB.
Other features on the Lumia 540 include an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front shooter. To complete the package, the Lumia 540 comes with a fairly large 2,200mAh battery unit.
Let’s face it. Everything about the Lumia 540 is decent. The smartphone is neither powerful nor too weak. However, after learning that the Lumia 540 retails at $149, it definitely made the device the best budget smartphones in history.
