Installing a game on the PC is supposed to be a walk in the park but not for GTA 5. Apparently, trying to install GTA 5 is like rocket science as there are many issues that popped up during the process.
The first common issue faced by the players is “The Rockstar update service is unavailable (code 1)”. Rockstar have acknowledged the issue and claims that they are working on a fix. Meanwhile, the work around for this is for gamers to create a new Administrator User Account with letters A-Z and numbers 0-9. Once done, restart the PC and log in with the new account.
The second most common issue is with Windows Media Player. While it may not be required, the installation error code revealed that no Windows Media Player is found hence, stopping the process.
The fix to this is to head to the Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows Features On or Off. Once clicked, a new Window will popup. There, players have to check Windows Media Player under Media Features.
The final common issue is with the error message that says GTA 5 is still encrypted. If players stumbled on this, they can either restart Steam or try launching GTA 5 a few times. Also, the storage location has to be 120GB free even though GTA 5 only requires 60GB.
