These are dark times for Mitsubishi as the company has been going down the hill for years now. Today, the Japanese carmaker is the sixth biggest company in the local market and the sixteenth biggest car manufacturer in the global market. Then again, these are based on production numbers.
Mitsubishi have been relying on SUVs, crossovers and cheap hatchbacks like the Mirage to survive these hard times. For the fans, they truly miss the old Mitsubishi where the Evo and the Lancer were ruling the streets.
While there is no word on whether Mitsubishi will continue on their sports division, some fans have taken the initiative to design the next-gen Mirage concept. Kyrgyzstan nationals’, Steel Blake, Zhikarev Eduard and Mike Kinikhin has created a stunning visualization of the 2015 Mitsubishi Eclipse R/SD and it has been the buzz among car enthusiasts worldwide.
The team of designers revealed that they have been closely studying the Mirage since its fourth generation, all the way to the latest model from 2011. From there, Steel Blake and his friends manage to create a realistic, precise and neat visualization of the Mitsubishi Eclipse.
Then again, these are considered as fan-made concepts and it seems unlikely for it to materialize. Then again, Mitsubishi might just like what they see and create the next-gen Mirage as a tribute to their loyal fans.
