Samsung Galaxy S4: How To Update It To Android 4.3 Google Play Edition

The Samsung Galaxy S4 can now be updated to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Google Play Edition. This update will improve the battery life on your Galaxy S4 as well as give it a better UI, more power to your processor and ample customization options.

Before you can update your Samsung Galaxy S4 to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, you first have to;

· Root your Galaxy S4

· Download and install CWM recovery on your Galaxy S4

· Install the Jelly Bean Google Play Edition firmware

· Install USB driver for your S4 on the computer that you will be using to make the update

· Enable USB debugging on your Samsung Galaxy S4

· Make sure at least 80% of your battery is still available.

If you have done all of the above, follow the steps below to make the update.

1. Connect your Galaxy S4 to your computer.

2. Then copy the Google Play Android 4.3 ROM in to the Galaxy S4’s SD card

3. Switch off your Galaxy S4 and disconnect the phone from your PC.

4. Boot the Galaxy S4 into the Recovery mode (press + hold Volume Up, Home and Power simultaneously)

5. Make an Android backup of your current ROM

6. Do a Factory reset/Wipe data, wipe cache partition and wipe Dalvik cache

7. After you are done, choose “Install zip from SD card” and second “Choose zip from SD card” and select the Google Play Edition firmware.

After the installation completes, reboot your Samsung Galaxy S4. The first boot after new ROM installation might take longer than normal boots. So now you should have Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Google Play Edition on your Samsung Galaxy S4. Please take note that this is not the final version of the Android Jelly Bean Google Play Edition. It will have some minor bugs.
