Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat Update Rolls Out With A Twist of CM Features

CyanogenMod are a ROM customisation team and they have recently made updates to their nightly download page and added CyanogenMod 11 builds for owners of the LTE international version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for the T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon carriers.

Late December of last year saw CyanogenMod reveal the source code for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and this gave us an indication that an official released of CM would soon come. It came three weeks later and the developers released an unofficial CM 11 based ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Earlier this month we saw the release of the CyanogenMod 11 M2 Snapshot but this didn’t come with support for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, but it will in future updates.

Some phone owners prefer custom ROMs as they do away with the user interface that is added on by the phone manufacturer, while adding in exclusive features that are not available on the stock firmware.

Owners who want to update to a custom ROM should make a backup of their handset first and be aware that when installing custom firmware caution is needed.
