Take away the heartbeat sensor and the fingerprint scanner on the upcoming Galaxy S5 and you will have an improved Galaxy S4. There isn’t a huge margin of differences between the two devices.
If you own the Galaxy S4 and wish to turn it into and S5, it is possible. AndroidPit revealed that this can be done if you’ve rooted your device. Also, a root explorer is needed and we would recommend ES File Explorer or Total Commander.
To have that Notification Shade and Quick Settings as demonstrated on the Galaxy S5, you can browse your root explorer and tweak the settings of your Galaxy S4. Simply head on to the root folder, system and select build.prop to open it up.
Once done, seek out for ro.product.name and ro.product.device entries and modify them to SM-900S. Reboot your device and those features on the S5 will be on your S4.
Of course, there are also instructions for Galaxy S5 apps, wallpapers, icons and a brand new settings menu with list view. To seek these instructions, you can just click here.
Since the Galaxy S4 is able to boast the features found on the S5, it certainly leaves a question mark on the consumers if this upcoming device is worth the purchase. Indeed the S5 is packed with all the latest hardwares and functions but the S4 is not far off. Owners of the predecessors should feel glad that they’ve made the right purchase after all.
