LG G2 users on Verizon can start looking forward to the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update coming to them soon. On the other hand, they can also start updating their device today with the unofficial built of the KitKat.
The firmware is already out and available and it was pushed out via OTA. While rushing to update the G2 is never a bad thing, installing this unofficial KitKat OS from Verizon requires basic knowledge in ADB. If you wish to proceed, then read on to get an idea on how to update your LG G2.
First and foremost, users will need to obtain the flash stock build VS98012B. Before starting on the process, the LG G2 will have to be rooted with AutoPrime. If everything is checked, download the bin file and rename it. Now, put the file in a specific folder before transferring it to the G2. Complete the process by keying in the ADB codes accordingly.
If everything is in place, the LG G2 should reboot with the KitKat OS. If you have knowledge in rooting your device, then the process won’t be a problem. If not, then we strongly discourage you from updating with this unofficial built.
