Verizon Bagging Nexus 5 Sales As Nexus 6 Left In Doubts

Verizon has no love for Google which explains why the Big Red carrier has never sold a Nexus device. At least, that is how it was until last month, when Verizon throw a surprise bomb by selling away the latest Google Nexus 5.

Many analysts are trying to understand Verizon’s sudden decision because the Nexus 5 was released last year and it took the carrier so long to start selling the phone. The chances for the Nexus 5 to be a bestseller under Verizon are a really slim one.

On the other hand, it suggests that there won’t be a Nexus 6 at all. Google is heavily rumoured to start the Android Silver program, which will also discontinue the Nexus program. If this is true, then Verizon won’t be suffering a loss as they have plenty of time to accumulate sales of the Nexus 5.

Then again, the idea of the Nexus 6 coming into production seems more likely. There is a lot of love for the Nexus series and the Nexus 6 could be the perfect parting gift. The smartphone is rumoured to be developed by either Motorola or Lenovo.

Also, it is suggested that the Nexus 6 will be competing with the latest iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S5 when it gets released. However, there is no telling on when this may happen as the Nexus 5 is about to get an added LTE connectivity in the coming months.
