The battle for this year’s Phone of the Year title has already started with Samsung leading the pack. The Korean-company made the first move by unleashing its Galaxy S5 and not long later, rival manufacturers followed suit.
As of today, major smartphones like the S5, HTC One M8 and the Sony Xperia Z2 have all shown what they’ve got to offer. The only confirmed devices pending to arrive this year are the LG G3 and the iPhone 6.
The former is going to debut next week on May 27, 2014. The latter on the other hand will be in Q3 this year.
LG is expected to equip the G3 with a 5.5” display that offers 2560×1440 QHD resolution. Apple on the other hand is heavily linked to releasing a twin iPhone 6. One of the duo will be Apple’s first phablet.
Despite only a handful of smartphone manufacturers that have yet to unveil their flagship device left, the excitement is still strong. Come Q4 this year, the battle will take its shape and we can tell the winner from then on.
