Good news for Moto E (3G) users because you can now enjoy the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on your device, thanks to the release of the unofficial AOSP based CyanogenMod 13 (CM 13) ROM.
Here are the steps to install Android 6.0 Marshmallow with CyanogenMod 13 ROM on your Moto E (3G):
Step 1: Download Marshmallow ROM and gapps zip files from the links provided.
Step 2: Connect your device to PC and copy the ROM and gapps files to a separate folder on your phone’s internal storage. Then, disconnect the device.
Step 3: Boot your device into recovery mood using Quick Boot app from Play Store or manually boot into recovery mode.
Step 4: [Optional] Make a backup of your device once in TWRP. Select Backup and choose all the partitions for backup.
Step 5: Perform a Factory Reset from TWRP’s main screen.
Step 6: Return to TWRP main screen and install the ROM file.
Step 7: Return to main recovery screen and install the Gapps like you installed Marshmallow ROM earlier.
Step 8: Tap Reboot system button to restart once Gapps is installed.
