Samsung simply nailed it with the Galaxy S6 Edge marketing campaign when they produced multiple adverts that saw the device being promoted with Marvel Heroes. Believe it or not, this has led to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge selling at 90 times above its normal retail price.
However, the $91,000 Galaxy S6 Edge is not an ordinary device. It is actually the limited edition Iron Man-themed model. With very few units being produced for the global market, it has got everyone wishing for the smartphone.
In China, the Iron Man Galaxy Note Edge became the subject of an auction on JD.com and it saw the 90,000 bids being made for the device. The auction has finally been concluded and the final price of the Iron Man Galaxy S6 Edge is exactly at $91,000.
Apparently, most in China really like the exclusive Galaxy S6 Edge. Aside from its high end specifications, the Edge comes in red and gold. Both colours represent luxury and generosity respectively.
Then there is also the love for the S6 Edge’s serial number. It carries the digits 66 and Chinese view the number 6 as something that is very lucky. Having two sixes simply doubles their luck.
Here in the US, we have no traditions or practices that can make us pay $91,000 for a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. The only way for the S6 Edge to sell near a hundred grand is if Samsung offers it with Iron Man’s Arc Reactor.
