ZenFone 2 Review: Must Avoid It!

In recent months, we have seen many OEMs making ultra-affordable high-end smartphones. The most notable of them all so far is the Android One and also the OnePlus One. Now, a new name has emerged and it is the Asus Zenfone 2.

The device features a 5.5” 1080p IPS LCD display that is powered by Atom Z3580 quad-core clocked at 2.33GHz. The processor is paired to 4GB of RAM and it has a layout that is similar to the Snapdragon 801 SoC. The best part about it is that the processor doesn’t overheat with benchmark tests recording 35-degrees Celsius as the peak.

The ZenFone 2 is also capable of running heavy games since it comes with the proven PowerVR G6430 GPU. This is the same unit that featured on the Apple A7 chipset. Other features on the Zenfone 2 include 64GB of internal storage, 3,000mAh battery, 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.

While it all sounds great, the Zenfone 2 still has its flaws. The device can’t offer a consistent performance and it is also priced extravagantly. The Zenfone 2 is more expansive than the Android One and OnePlus One, and this is despite of all three devices coming out with the similar performance.
