One of the best parts about The Witcher 3 is that when you get tired of killing bandit and drowners, you can slow things down and relax by playing a game of Gwent. Due to the popularity of the game, CD Projet Red has decided to turn it into a standalone game and we got to see some of it at E3 this year.
In general, the game will be just like the one we play in The Witcher 3 but with a little more drama. The setting is more dramatic and the magic effect and cards will all look far better than the in-game version.
Unlike the in-game version, the standalone version will have characters that talk as well. They also made some changes to the stats to balance things out. Instead of being just a card game, the Gwent standalone game will come with a map that players can walk around in. CDPR added that there will be things to do and secrets to find throughout the map. Maybe this will set them apart.
Whether or not it will be good enough to compete with games like Hearthstone is another issue.
