Subaru SVX Revived For 2015 Release!

Subaru is currently developing the BRZ STI but it won’t be the only coupe coming in the near future. New information has surfaced and it revealed that Subaru is also planning to revive the old SVX.

The word came from an anonymous industry insider and he claims that the upcoming SVX replacement will be launched next year. The vehicle will be heavily inspired by the VIZIV-2 concept and will arrive with many features of the old SVX.

The lad added that the coupe will stand on the same platform with the Tribeca, thus giving it the Subaru Symmetrical all-wheel drive system. The SVX will also be powered by a hybrid Boxer engine that is developed by Lexus. The reason Subaru will not use its own hybrid engine is due to its lack of power. On the other hand, Subaru is partly owned by Toyota which give them access to the latter’s resources.

The SVX once reigned terror on the roads back in the 90s but it failed to get a successor ever since. With Subaru pushing to be a major competitor in the automotive industry, the Japanese carmaker is creating a new successor for each one of its vehicle.

Despite all that, there has yet to be an official word from Subaru on the upcoming SVX. While it may be best to take it with a pinch of salt, enthusiasts can hope to meet this successor getting unveiled on the next major motor show.
