Sony has been very subliminal when it comes to announcing a future software update for their smartphones and the users are growing frustrated by it.
With other smartphone from rival manufacturers already receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, the Xperia Z3 and Z2 users are getting restless and are also demanding for information on when the OS will be ready for their devices.
Well, it may just happen in a fortnight from now and this is confirmed by Australia’s major carrier, Vodafone. The telco claims that they have finally received the Lollipop ROM from Sony and are running some tests on it. If all is well, Vodafone claims that the update should be ready for launching in two-weeks from now.
The carrier also took the opportunity to explain that Sony intends to update the Xperia Z3 and Z2 on a regional basis. In other words, the update will start with the Oceana continent before it reaches out to the rest of the world.
While no exact date to when the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be ready for other countries, it is safe to assume that the firmware will be launched globally before the end of April next-month.
