While most major Android-powered smartphone manufacturer are busy updating their devices to the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop, Sony has adopted to stay quiet throughout. That is until today when Australia’s Vodafone came out to share on the Lollipop update for the Xperia Z-smartphones.
The carrier shared that teased that they are now running soak tests for the Android 5.0 Lollipop and it will be ready for the Sony Xperia Z2, Z3 Compact and Z3 very soon. While there is no specific date indicated, we can expect the update to arrive next week.
Vodafone also revealed that Sony intends to roll out the update in phases starting with Oceana before reaching out to Asia, Middle East, Europe and Americas in that order. At this rate, we feel that the updating process will be completed by mid-April.
While it might be late, Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z2 users will surely be relieved to learn that there will indeed be the Android 5.0 Lollipop update coming to their device.
