It is not very often do we get to see a Ferrari LaFerrari cruising around the road but it is rarer for a Ferrari to get recalled. The latter happened yesterday when Ferrari announced a recall that involves only the LaFerrari.
Of course, since it is rare, Ferrari avoided the term recall. Reports are claiming that the prestigious carmaker is inviting some LaFerrari owners over to their service centre for a free fuel tank replacement together with new paint.
Apparently, the existing fuel tank on the LaFerrari has incorrect adhesion of a layer of paint and this puts the car at risk of a fire. It is also understood that the issue only affected a handful of LaFerrari.
As for the replacement, the process will take days but we don’t think the public will ever notice the missing LaFerrari. Perhaps this is because most LaFerrari owners prefer to leave the car catching dust in their private garage instead of driving it. The ‘recall’ should force the LaFerrari out of its lot.
