With the Android L coming out in the near future, most Android-based smartphone manufacturer are busy sending out the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update to their devices. This includes Sony, which has come out to confirm that the latest KitKat OS will be coming to the Xperia devices.

The update will reach out to the Xperia X, SP, T, TX, V, Sirius and also, the Z1. The X, SP, T, TX and V, in particular, will also be getting some extra features taken from the Sirius and Z1. The list includes new UIs, battery managers and camera modes.

Also, the camera interface will also be tweaked. Once the update is applied, all the devices above will come with Background Defocus and Timeshift video.

The Xperia Sirius, on the other hand, will be getting some improvements of its own. Sony revealed that they will be updating the Sirius’ sound system with S Force audio and Clear Audio with the xLoud engine.

All in all, these are some exciting times ahead if you’re part of the Xperia family. Aside from the extra features that are coming, there are still those from the stock KitKat like better power managements, location based Wi-Fi and queuing background data along with better management for low batteries.
