The Sony Xperia E3 is without a doubt one of the best mid-tier devices from last year and soon, it is going to get replaced by the Xperia E4. This upcoming device will obviously be an upgrade from its predecessor and now, we can tell for sure after Sony revealed its specs.
Unfortunately, nothing about the E4 is actually worth speaking about. The smartphone runs on MediaTek’s Mt6582 quad core Cortex-A7 which is nowhere near as great as the Qualcomm Snapdragon. Even when being paired to ARM Mali 400 GPU and 1GB of RAM, the E4’s rig is nothing more than a low-level mid-tier setup.
This is disappointing as the E3 was recognized as a high-end mid-tier smartphone. Aside from the performance, the E4 is completed with other basic features like 8GB of internal storage with microSD support, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and a 5” 220ppi display screen.
The biggest let down of them all is with the E4’s connectivity option. Being a smartphone of 2015, it is unforgivable for it not to feature LTE connectivity. With that being said, it is in a way better for consumers to get the E3 instead. When the E4 arrives, we expect Sony to sell it at an ultra-low price.
