Sony Xperia Devices Will Get Some Exclusive Android 4.4.4 KitKat Features

Sony has been giving out hints to owners of the Sony Xperia devices about an update to KitKat 4.4.4 along with the Sony Xperia X, SP, T, TC and the V. The phone maker said that features could be heading to the handsets that are found on the Sony Xperia Sirius along with the Z1. We heard that the device could have two new UIs along with camera modes and battery managers.

The Sony Sirius UI was leaked and with it came a new homescreen. The leak showed us that there were changes to the icons along with the battery icon.

When Jelly Bean 4.3 arrived on the scene it came with Smart Social apps along with a new camera mode and new UI. The Sony Ultra X and Xperia X1 along with other Z handsets may have some of the Sirius exclusive features. This could include Timeshift video along with Background Defocus.

The Smart App brings with it a new look and the Close All button. This was a part of the Recent Apps along with Smart Backlight. This is along the lines of the Smart Stay which features on the Samsung Galaxy devices. KitKat 4.4.4 has support for calling along with double tapping to wake the handset and white balance.

With the Xperia Sirius comes some new sound choices, high resolution audio and accessory support. There is the Clear Audio with xLoud engine and S Force audio.

KitKat will also offer location based Wi-Fi along with better power management and background data queuing. There is also support for battery management and low battery.

The first handset to get the update will be the Sony Xperia Z2 and then the Sony Xperia SP, T, TX and V will be next to get Android KitKat 4.4.4.
