Sony: Android 5.0 Lollipop Update For Xperia Z-Series Only Creates An Angry Mob

There is no doubt that Sony is a great brand in the tech industry and it is probably the only brand that offers high quality, Android-powered smartphones and tablets. Now, the Japanese tech giant has broken its silence on the upcoming Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

In a statement made on Sony’s official Twitter account, the company revealed that the highly anticipated Android 5.0 Lollipop update will only be delivered to the Xperia Z-series. This means that only the Z family, Z2 family and the Z3 family will get updated to the latest OS from Google.

Those using a mid-tier Android-powered smartphone from Sony are furious upon hearing the announcement and they are voicing out their discontent on various tech forums. It is easy to understand why the users are upset by this but having the Android 5.0 Lollipop will actually make no difference to the basic functions of a smartphone.

Well, the problem here is with society itself. Apparently, most smartphone users think that without an OS update, their device is deemed useless. Are smartphones used to just show-off to others on the latest OS?

For most of the Sony Xperia Z-series users, they are also pending to receive the update and they are not angered by the long wait. After all, what is important is that the users are enjoying the best quality smartphone around and the rest are not viewed as necessities but as an added treat instead.
