Petrol is fast depleting which explains why fuel prices are reaching new heights. The cost of petrol doesn’t look like dropping any further and car manufacturers are already jumping into electrical energy. With more and more electric cars already landed on the showroom, which is the best one for the consumers?
At the moment, the list includes the BMW i3, Tesla Model S and the VW e-Up.
The i3 in particular looks like a mini-size SUV. Drivers will get a birds-eye view on the road due to the high seating arrangement. Amazingly, the i3 is able to run at an 80mile length before requiring a recharge. However, when relying on the petrol engine, it can only manage 36mpg, which is nothing to be impressed about.
Moving on, there is the Tesla Model S which is something better than the i3. The stylish compact sedan comes with a 60kwh electric motor that can reach 208miles. If that is not enough, consumers can get the 85kwh model that can achieve a whopping 311miles. The Tesla S is not short of power as it can do a 0-60mph in 5.4s.
Finally is the VW-eUp which runs on an electric motor that can last 90miles on a single charge. Unlike the previous two cars, the motor system on the e-Up is more responsive and can cruise at a faster speed of 62mph. Heck, the motor offers 81bhp.
Between the three, it is the VW-eUp that is the cheapest of them all. Then again, owning the eUp can really cut a hole in your wallet. As such, we believe that the best electric car is the BMW i3. It is well-balanced, good looking and have more to offer than its counterparts.
