Of all the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active devices out there, Consumer Reports had to pick two units that were prone to water damage.
Consumer Reports reported that the IP68 rated Samsung Galaxy S7 Active might not be as water resistance as Samsung wants us to believe after the two units that they used to test got damaged by water.
Samsung has since responded to the report by saying that “The Galaxy S7 Active passed rigorous tests to ensure IP68 certification for water resistance,”. They also added that they will be replacing any Samsung Galaxy S7 Active under its warranty if they were damaged by water.
While some other users have reported that the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is prone to water damage, other reported that their device seems to be holding up well when submerged under water for 30minutes under 5 ft of water.
