Samsung Galaxy S5 vs HTC One M8: The Winner Is…

Before the phone makers from China arrived on the scene Android was dominated by just a few names. These included Sony, HTC and Samsung.

The HTC One M8, Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2 are three great devices with a price tag of RM2, 399. Of course there are many other handsets on the market, including the Lenovo, LG, Motorola, Oppo, Huawei and the Xiaomi, among others, but the three handsets are going to be put up against the each other in a head to head today. So which of them comes out on top?

While each of the phones comes with strong points, the categories that were tested here puts the HTC One M8 ahead. I did like the HDR photos from the Samsung Galaxy S5, however overall the photo quality from the Sony Z2 was better overall. The M8 did come out ahead in most of the sections, with one Achilles hell, the Duo camera.

The user experience of the HTC One M8 Sense 6 is better and when you have seen the performance offered by the M8 you will not want to go for anything that is smaller.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 does happen to be a great all-round performer and it has many features. However the bloatware does mean it is sluggish.

The Sony X2 is interesting and it does have the water resistant features, along with front facing stereo speakers, a camera shutter that has support for half-presses and a low power sensor co-processor.

The M8 does get my vote by a point, but what do you think, which of these would you pay out RM2, 399 for?
