The Samsung Galaxy S5 will be distributed in less than a week’s time and now, more leaks has surfaced on its siblings. Like the Galaxy S4, the S5 will be accompanied by other variants of itself.
Two upcoming versions have appeared on the internet and they are the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active and a dual-SIM version of the main device. The leak revealed the model name, SM-G870A and G9009D, which are the Active and the dual-SIM respectively.
The S5 Active in particular is expected to be for the rugged users. However, the Galaxy S5 is already certified water and dust resistant which left consumers wondering on how Samsung is going to make the Active more durable. Word has it that the Galaxy S5 Active will be aiming to achieve military-grade toughness. On top of that, expect better grip design and handling instead of the high end finish.
Then there is the dual-SIM Galaxy S5. It is understood that this device will be exclusively for the China Telecom carrier. The downside with this version is that it doesn’t have 4G LTE capabilities. On the other hand, China Telecom severely lacks LTE coverage and has been introducing dual-SIM phones for some time now. As such, the dual-SIM Galaxy S5 is the way to go for the telco.
At the moment, it is unknown on when both devices will look to make its debut but we can expect them to arrive before the end of May. Come April 11, let the Samsung Galaxy S5 begin.
