Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs Mega 6.3: Tablet Wannabes

For so long now, the Galaxy Note devices have been dominating the phablet market. The latest Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been sublime in every field. Despite that fact, the position of the Note 3 is now challenged by the newer, Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3.

This new device came out strong and it is already appealing to the masses with its $415 price tag. This is by far cheaper than the $545 for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

In terms of screen size, the Note 3’s 5.7” screen is definitely smaller than the 6.3” on the Galaxy Mega. However, the Note 3 is able to produce 386ppi which is sharper than the 233ppi on the Mega. Both screens are powered by the same 3,200mAh battery. However, the Note 3 is able to last longer thanks to its much smaller screen.

While the Mega might be newer, it is not as fast as the Note 3. The Snapdragon 400 processor with 1.5GB RAM is second best to the 2.3GHz Snapdragon processor with 3GB RAM on the latter.

This is no contest to begin with. Samsung made the Mega 6.3 to be nothing more than a mid-tier phablet. It is never able to match up with the powers on the Note 3.
