An insider from Samsung has said that two of the companies former flagship handsets will get updated to KitKat 4.4.2 over the next couple of months. These Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S3 should get the update towards the end of March.
This information comes from a software engineer who claims that the Samsung handsets will be updated to KitKat 4.4 in late Q1, not long after KitKat 4.4 rolls out for the Samsung Galaxy S4. The update is said to have performance tweaks along with updates and of course, some new software features.
These will include a transparent status bar, print feature from the settings and what is called an immersive full screen mode.
The KitKat 4.4 update will roll out in phases to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S3. Therefore, owners of handsets, which are carrier branded, should expect the update to arrive as much as one month later.
