Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Or Mega 6.3: Does Size Matter?

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is by far the best phablet ever created. Despite having a huge screen, the device is able to offer tremendous speed and power. Now, a new giant smartphone has arrived as well. It is the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3. Let’s see how it fair against the proven Note 3.

For starters, the newer Mega 6.3 costs $415. This is cheaper than the $545 price tag on the Note 3. This is surprising as the Mega 6.3 has a larger 6.3” screen that produces 233ppi. Well, the Note 3 justified its pricing as its 5.7” display is able to produce a whopping 386ppi.

Both devices are equipped with the same 3200mAh battery. However, the Mega 6.3 couldn’t last as long as the Note 3. This is due to its larger screen which requires more power to operate.

Even when it comes to the OS, the Note 3 is more updated than the Mega 6.3. It runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat while the latter runs on the 4.2.2 Jellybean.

It is a mismatch in the hardware segment as well. The 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB RAM on the Note 3 is superior to the Snapdragon 400 processor with 1.5GB RAM on the Mega 6.3.

This is thoroughly disappointing as we expected a contest between two supersized smartphones. It appears that the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 is nothing more than a mid-tier phablet.
