Samsung Galaxy Note 2 & S3 Android 4.4 KitKat Update May Be Up Before The Month Is

Samsung are currently pushing out the KitKat 4.4 update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Soon it will arrive on the Samsung Galaxy S4, while the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 are said to be getting the update too. This news has left owners of the handsets wanting to know when to expect the update.

Earlier on there were reports going around that KitKat 4.4 would arrive for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S3 this year. Leaks led us to believe that both of the handsets would get KitKat 4.4 with the rollout beginning in March and going through to April. This also included other handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.

It was then said that the KitKat 4.4 update could arrive sooner. Android Geeks said that a software engineer from Samsung had told them that the rollout would start in Q1 just after it arrived on the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Up to now Samsung have remained quiet about KitKat 4.4 for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S3. There will be changes when Samsung reveal the new software as the Pro edition of the Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Note have a new TouchWiz complete with magazine style, new icons and notifications when running KitKat 4.4.

It has been said that the same UI will be available on the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3. It may also be seen on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S3, as the same happened when porting to Jelly Bean 4.3. Samsung seed updates randomly, with the firmware update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 starting in Poland. It is thought that in the US Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 owners could get it about one month after other regions.
