Samsung Galaxy Alpha Is The iPhone 6 Killer

Just three weeks before the IFA and before we saw the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung showed off the Galaxy Alpha, a device that we had heard rumours about for some time. The handset was confirmed to be a mix of high and mid-range hardware.

The design is what makes the handset stand out. When you first take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Alpha it looks like the S2. It comes with the metallic perimeter along with edges that are chamfered. The front of the handset is glass and the back features a dimpled design in a soft material.

Samsung claim that it is the thinnest handsets at 6.7mm. The iPhone 5S was 7.6mm. However as the handset is so thin this means that the battery life is compromised. The battery is 1860mAh.

The display of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is Super AMOLED at 4.7 inch and this is 720p.

It has the Exynos 5 Octa 5430 chipset with quad core, this is by way of a 1.8GHz Cortex A15 along with a quad core 1.3GHz Cortex A7 CPU. It is said to have the Mali-T628 MP6, 2GB of RAM and 32GB ROM.

It does have the fingerprint scanner along with the heart rate sensor, but there have been some downgrades, with the resolution being one. There is no water resistance or micro-USB support and the support for microSD slot has also gone too.

It does seem strange that Samsung have announced the Galaxy Alpha as we are expecting the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 soon. We heard that the Alpha will be available in white, black, gold, silver and blue.
