The latest rumour surrounding this upcoming seventh sequel is that the game will be an Xbox One exclusive. However, this rumour contradicts to what a local Japanese newspaper revealed. The latter claimed that Capcom referred to the game as ‘the upcoming PS4 title’. On top of that, Capcom appears to have targeted to sell over 5.6 million copies, like how it was for Resident Evil 6.
On the other hand, DualShockers pointed out that there is no part in the article that says Resident Evil 7 to be a PS-exclusive. It appears to be a common writing technique for Japanese media as they refer to every video game with the Playstation.
All in all, it is still best to keep this in mind if you are a Resident Evil fan. At least if the worse nightmare were to happen, you will be prepared for it.
