The thing about remaking such a popular game is that the fans will be very critical of the new remake version and any mistake will be unforgivable which is why it is so important for Capcom to get the remake right.
They did a pretty good job with the last remake but the fans are still worried seeing as the last Resident Evil games were not that successful. However, some fans now believe that Capcom will actually get it right after seeing what they had to offer on the Resident Evil 7 demo.
Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, the producer of the game also mentioned that they are trying their best to stick to the horror roots of the game and that they are trying to stick as close to the game as possible while still keep the update exciting enough.
The Resident Evil 2 Remake gameplay trailer should be released early next year followed by the release of the game soon after.
