The PS4 blinking red light issue has caused a shit storm for gamers worldwide as it swarms the web much in the same way the Xbox 360 red ring of death did. However is it really the same kind of problem or sensational journalism?
The answer is the latter. The PS4 and its blinking red light issue is nothing like that of the Xbox 360 and is just a nice way for your console to tell you to back off for a while as it cools down. Yes, it is a warning system for overheating.
We recently praised the PS4 for its sexy and compact design but it now could be that this compact design is the cause for lack of proper ventilation and the overheating. The Xbox One on the other hand and its big body design would theoretically not suffer the same consequences.
So don’t get turned off by the PS4 blinking red light stories swarming the web, you just need to shut the machine down, take a breather and once it is cool again you can continue your gaming session!
