Porsche Hatchback Concept Spotted In Stuttgart [PICS]

Just recently, a rumour started a huge buzz in the automotive world as it claims that Porsche is developing a hatchback. Many, including us, viewed it with scrutiny as there is no way for Porsche to lower its standards by exploring into the world of hatchbacks.

That was until yesterday, when we head down to the Porsche museum, only to find a hatchback resting before our eyes. The vehicle appears to be part of the Project: Top Secret exhibition that is taking place in Stuttgart, Germany.

At a glance, the hatchback looks like the old Volkswagen Golf but with an extended tail like a wagon. It comes with round headlamps and a grille that is divided by a V-shaped metal in the middle. It was explained by Porsche that the hatchback is nothing more than a prototype from 1973. It was developed to tackle the energy crisis back then, which is also happening today.

With that being said, we won’t be surprised if Porsche actually produces the concept today as an answer to rising fuel cost. Of course, we won’t expect it to look anything like the boxy concept. The only thing that the hatchback can do well for Porsche is by offering the company an inspiration.

On another note, the hatchback could also be the reason why the rumours are spreading like wildfire. It was developed by Porsche back in the 1970s and such a thing can be repeated today.
