Plex is a centralized home media playback system with a powerful central server–the Plex Media Server–that streams its media to many Plex player Apps. The Server is available on many platforms like Windows, OS X and many more.
To get started, users will need to install Plex Media Servers on a computer or a supporting mobile device. Once installed, register a free account with Plex to get started. Following that, users are required to select their media files and place them in Plex Servers.
When casting is required, open up Plex on a separate device and it the app will automatically pair with the main Plex Media Server which was registered on the PC. Then, users will gain access to all their media contents and stream it individually like a YouTube video.
Plex now have support for Chromecast and AppleTV too. Users of the aforementioned devices can install Plex there and run their exclusive media content with ease.
