We thought we will be not be hearing about Nokia anymore ever since Microsoft took over their mobile department but it looks like Nokia is not ready to throw in the towel just yet.
In the latest investor-focused presentation, Nokia releases a slide revealing that there will be more Nokia smartphones in the future. They highlighted their plans for 2016, 2017 and 2018 and in the 2017 segment, they confirm that Nokia Brand’s smartphones will be returning.
They won’t be producing them. They will only own the patents and brand but the once company that will actually be manufacturing them will be Foxconn, the same manufacturer that is producing the Apple iPhones right now.
We still do not know what Nokia will be offering next year but they will have to step up their game if they want to have another go at the smartphone industry. What do you think of Nokia’s return?
