Nissan’s goal for the future will be all about reducing the weight of the models in the future. Thanks to the new Lightweighting Program, Nissan have already managed to reduce the weight of the Nissan Qashqai and Nissan X-Trail significantly and they are not planning to stop there.
Nissan’s David Moss commented that they realize that the vehicles will need to be lighter and more efficient the new future which is why they came out with the new program.
With the new Lightweighting Program, we can definitely expect Future Nissan models to come in with a much lighter body thanks to the new lightweight structure. According to Nissan, the new structure will be made with material and techniques that are now more common in aerospace and motorsport industry.
